Homopolymer consists solely of propylene in the polymer chain. As a semi-crystalline polymer, it exhibits excellent mechanical properties such as high rigidity, high tensile strength, and good thermal deformation resistance due to its high crystallinity. Additionally, its good flowability and high crystallization temperature contribute to a shorter molding cycle time. Homopolymer is widely used in injection molding and yarn extrusion.

Random copolymer, characterized by lower crystallinity, offers improved transparency and softer feel. Compared to homopolymer, its lower melting point and crystallization temperature make it easier to process and mold. With appropriate surface treatment, random copolymer can achieve good printability. The enhanced transparency of random copolymer enhances the aesthetics of products, making it a popular choice for food packaging and household items.

Heterophasic (impact) copolymer is also called block copolymer. To improve the impact resistance of polypropylene, ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) is dispersed in the polymer matrix during the polymerization process. Impact copolymer exhibits good impact resistance at both ambient and low temperatures, making it suitable for cold weather applications. It also exhibits good long-term thermal stability (aging resistance), making it ideal for automotive and appliance applications.

Polypropylene advanced materials are polypropylene modified with other polymers to enhance performance and improve the impact resistance while maintaining transparency and improving overall product performance.
